If you thought that golf courses at the beach lacked elevation changes, wait until you play The Wizard. Dan Maples created a landscape that will remind you of the mountains. Take Hole #13, for example. It’s a 408-yard, Par 4 that plays through a valley, surrounded by towering mounds covered with all kinds of flowers, shrubs, and Love grass. That Love grass is beautiful, but it’s a beast if you get caught in it. The slight dogleg right of the layout is perfect for my left-to-right shot. The second shot is onto a large undulating green, guarded by two bunkers in the front. Shooting par on #13 is a satisfying experience!
